Vodafone needed to refine an existing Learning Management System
to better suit the future needs of the organisation, focusing on:
• Ease of access for learning
• Increased learning opportunities
• Increase in the types of learning resources provided
• Shared ownership of learning
• Ability to measure and demonstrate the value the learning adds

These are underpinned by some key social/gamification elements which
encourage and reward desired behaviours;
• The use of badges to reward and encourage compliance and activity
• The ability to recommend training to others
• The ability to rate and comment on learning
• The ability to follow other learners
• The ability to accumulate points and to see the ‘top learner’
• The ability to see what others are doing.
ELearning System & Apps Award Vodafone Learning
Vodafone is already seeing increased numbers of course uptakes
through the system.
• So far course completions in 2015 have outnumbered 2014’s.
• Messaging and badges are the most popular of the social tools.
• Likes are the most commonly used of the feedback tools, and
there is regular use of course reviews.
