Visiting the library…

Elementary School: Middle School:

You went to the library with your class, probably the same day every week.

Your literature class will visit the library every OTHER week.

If you want to come to the library , SPEAK UP! If you need to come, your literature teacher is your best bet.

The library is open 7:45-3:45 every day.

Page 3: Elementary versus middle school

You can also visit the

library before or after school!

Page 4: Elementary versus middle school

Before school…

We open at 7:45 AM You need a pass from me or from any

teacher Computers and printers are for school work

only (no online games) You can also checkout, read quietly, play

chess, checkers, or cards (I have them in the library), or do homework/study

If you want to talk loudly with a large group of friends, it’s better if you stay in the cafeteria

After school

We are open until 3:45 every day. You do not need a pass after school. Do not miss your bus!

Late books

In elementary school… In middle school…

If your book was late, you could not get a new one until you returned the late book.

You still cannot get a new book if you have a late book, plus…

Late books cost 5 cents per day, per book.

You cannot check out at all if your total fine is more than 50 cents. You must pay your fines to check out.

Page 7: Elementary versus middle school

Let’s do the math…

You have 2 books checked out:

Both books are three days late Late fee is 5 cents per day, per book What is the total fine?

• 3 days late X 5 cents per day= 15 cents late fee

• You have 2 late books (X 2)• =30 cents late fee
