Basic Understanding of
Elevator Traffic Analysis
By Abul Kalam Azad
Disclaimer:
The points discussed here are for the basic understanding only.
Professional approach and support recommended for actual study.
Elevator Traffic Analysis approximates the Waiting time for an Elevator and assumes How Efficiently the Elevators will serve the Building Population.
Do we know?
WI – Waiting Interval or Average Waiting TimeRTT – Round Trip TimeHC – Handling Capacity or Efficiency
?
RTT – Round Trip Time
Time taken by a single Elevator to complete its assigned tasks and return to Main Floor
Door Open & Close
Door Open & Close

repeat it ‘s’ number of times +
return: acceleration + rated speed + deceleration + stop + door open

WI = RTT / Number of units in a group. In this case RTT / 1 = WI

Elevator Traffic Analysis approximates the Waiting time for an Elevator and assumes How Efficiently the Elevators will serve the Building Population.
In order to get those results, we need to input following data: 1. Capacity, 2. Speed, 3. No. of stops, 4. Travel, 5. Loading percentage, 6. Probable Stops, 7. Door open / close time, 8. Passenger entry exit time, 9. Acceleration / Deceleration / Rated Speed etc.
