Spend at least fifteen minutes noting down the visual details of your object before exploring the other senses, i.e. touch, hear, smell and taste.
3. Put all your information together and write at least one and a half page typed description (Arial 12, double spacing) that enables readers to imagine the object. You may also provide a drawing of the object that you are observing. Organize your information so that your reader can follow your process of observation. Every morning when I woke up, my mother will put something on the table and
reminds me to bring it to school before the bus come to pick me up. When the bus has
arrived, I took the thing on the table which my mother told me to bring it to school.
The moment I took it, I felt the warmness inside it. “Is it because the warm water
inside it or it’s just the warmness of my mother?” I asked myself and started to laugh at
myself because it’s kind of stupid to think it’s because of my mother’s warmness. It’s
quite cool that after a few minutes; the warmness of the water has gone and become
normal temperature.
When I was in the bus, I drank almost half of the water inside it. Then I saw
something that catches my eyes. I saw some dew drops of water inside it. Moreover, it’s
interesting how the dew drops of water can be seen inside it after I drank the water.
As the bus arrived to school, I took it with me and went in to my class. While I was on
my way to the class, I felt it became lighter than before I drank the water inside it. I’m
sure it will become very light when there’s no water inside it.
During recess I drank the whole water inside it and I smell the odor of roses in it
when it’s empty. Then, I take a close look for it. It has the shape of a cylinder that has a
cover on top of it. As I slowly touch it from the top until the bottom, it’s like you are
driving a car that pass through rough and smooth. I took it up and looked from the
bottom, it looks round in shape and there’s some other smaller circle in it.
While I was holding and thinking about the body parts of it, I accidentally drop it on
the floor and it produce a “Pop” sound and everyone were shocked of the sound
because the class was quiet at that time. I felt like I have killed five people in the class 6
when everyone was looking at me. It was kind of awkward at that moment but then they
just ignore it and continue doing their own stuff.
When I went back home, my mother asked me “Where’s your water bottle? Did you
finish drinking the water?”. “Yes mum, I did.” I replied. All this time my water bottle is
always been there for me when my throat is like living in the Sahara desert. Water bottle
is something important in our life because without it, where are we going to place the
water? However, we can learn many things about a water bottle when we take a close
look of it and explore it.
