The case of the GreeNET project

Introduction
GreeNET objectives• Successfully and permanently link environmental education to
career contexts.• Address future skills’ needs; properly training the next generation
to correspond to major issues such as sustainable development & climate change, and make sound decisions for their future careers.
• Create an inventory of the most outstanding educational scenarios connecting the curricula of the participating countries to professions related to sustainable development & environmental protection.
• Establish a constantly-expanding network of teachers and school communities informed on the necessity of ‘green living and teaching’ and trained in effective use of digital resources in science teaching.
What will GreeNET contribute to the green learning community?
• An inventory of Best Practices related to sustainable development & environmental protection.
• On top of that, GreeNET allows users to:– Explore the GreeNET Best Practices.– Exchange their activities with colleagues and share their
own Best Practices using the GreeNET Inventory. – Have access to unique training materials, guidelines and
relative info in the GreeNET Moodle.– Build their own green learning portal using the
School Portal Generator.
Addressing the issues
The GreeNET InventoryAllows users to:a. Search for online resources on green topics.b. Get inspiring ideas through the organization of creative
activities in their schools.c. Get guidance through the authoring process of best practices
for the classroom.d. Create your own school portal on green ideas and projects
sharing locally or in public the outcomes of their work.
