constructing this product?

Technology used

In the creation of my magazine, I used lots of different pieces of technology which I had both used many times before or was brand new to. This has allowed me to learn more about the different types of technology used to bring a magazine together. Some of the technology I used was:

• Adobe Photoshop• Blogger• Survey monkey• Slidshare• Microsoft PowerPoint• Paint.NET• Internet explorer

I also had to use some hardware to help with the planning and making of my magazine, some of these were:

• Memory stick• Laptop• Camera• Computer• Voice recorder

Photoshop

I had never used Photoshop before this project so, through making my magazine, I have learnt the basics of Photoshop and how helpful it can be when creating something like this.

I used Photoshop to create all three of my pages and edit and image used in the magazine. It helped me to adjust the images I took, like brightening up the background and getting rid of any imperfections in the image, to help my magazine look more professional.

This is also a tool that is commonly used when editing images for publication so it was necessary that I learnt how to use it for my images for the magazine as well.

Blogger

To show my progress throughout the project, I uploaded any work that I had finished (including any planning, research and the final product) onto Blogger. By doing this, it made it easy to keep track of everything that I had done and what I still needed to do.

This also meant that I saved paper by presenting everything electronically, and I saved a lot of time as everything could be done at the press of a button.

The only problem that I found when using Blogger is that it doesn’t support some file formats (like Word and PowerPoint) and even after converting them to a suitable format, it still would not let me upload. However, I did manage to overcome this so it was not too big of an issue.

Slideshare

I used Slideshare multiple times throughout my project to upload any PowerPoint documents that I had created to display my work.

Before this project, I had never used Slideshare before so I had to create an account and learn how to upload the presentation to the site. I then had to embed the document into a blog post on my Blogger page.

Because of all this, I have a much wider knowledge on how to use this type of site and how to post documents on Blogger which are not the correct file format for the site.

Paint.NET

I had to use Paint.NET to create the app symbol for my magazine. I already had previous experience with Paint.NET before making my app symbol, however, it helped me to develop and improve on my previous skills with the site.

This program was extremely helpful as I managed to design the app and create it easily inside the program and adjust it to my liking without worry of ruining it if I didn’t like the outcome.

It was not necessary for me to use Paint.NET but I found that it added something extra having taken the time to design and make the app myself.
