Evaluation Question 7

Intro and statement about my progressI’ve learnt multiple key things from the prelim to the finishing product. The most important one I think is filming and editing. In the prelim there were many jump cuts and shaking camera movements. As well I didn’t know till making the opening sequence how to do advanced effects and color corrections which would have come handy in editing the prelim.

Skills before Prelim

• Basic EditingBefore the prelim I had experience editing videos with different apps and software (such as IMovie) but had never used Premier Pro.

• Filming Previously I have filmed short little videos with friends but not anything as big as filming an opening sequence so it was a new experience that I learned a lot of skills through.

• Knowledge of angles and shotsStudding Media Studies at GCSE kevel helped me have a basic understand of a rang of Camera shots and angles that could be used throughout filming the prelim and Opening sequence.

Skills developed in the Pre-production stage

• Creativity• Creating shot lists and storyboards• Planning (schedules, props)• Arrangements (equipment, travelling etc.…)

All these skills came in useful when deciding on what to do for our title sequence and how we were going to create the title sequence we want in time for the deadline, this included planning days out to film and time to edit.

Skills developed in the production stage

• Filming (framing, shots, movements)• Directing/ ActingFor the production we got more of a say and creative input when it came to filming and directing. As a group we had to come up with different shots, angels and movements that would be effective and useful to our title sequence, but as well as an individual I had to think up ideas when everyone's couldn't come up with any so we didn't’t fall behind on our schedule

Skills developed in the post-production stage

• Editing (Premier pro/ Photoshop)• After Effects (Creating and Animating titles)• Creating SoundscapeLearning how to use different software's in a short amount of time is difficult but It helped me develop many skills. My skills now to when we did the prelim has developed significantly in terms of post-production.

Hidden Skills

• Teamwork (missing member)• Decision making• Collaborating with group members• Being independent

In the prelim I was very shy and was not use to working in a group, however now im more confident working in a group. I can now be more independent as well, making quick decision when needed to get a task complete. As a team member during the planning stage unfortunately left we had to distribute the task evenly between three and make decisions among ourselves on how we will spread out his tasks among us to make it easier and more efficient to get the title sequence complete

Conclusion

• In conclusion, since the prelim to now I have developed multiple skills and have completed the title sequence. I can now edit better then in the prelim and know how to film different shots and angles. As well I can now be more apart of a team and not be afraid to put forward my ideas. With that, I can now create, film and edit a title sequence .
