What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Trailer FeedbackFor our feedback, we used a website called Survey Monkey which enabled us to create a survey and post a link to our survey onto Facebook alongside our trailer and have people fill out the survey anonymously. We also used paper feedback sheets in class to receive even more feedback. Our feedback was very useful as it gave us an insight into what people thought of our film trailer and due to it being anonymous, there was no prejudice into how people would answer as there would be no fear of upsetting anyone. By using Survey Monkey it gave us easy access to our data and as it was presented in bar graphs, the data was easy to analyse. We received lots of positive feedback about our trailer. For example, people said that they liked the fast paced editing, the easy to follow narrative and we were also able to see that many people thought our trailer was a mainstream/big budget film even though we said from the outset that we would make an indie film. We also asked for improvements to our trailer. Some data we received said that they didn’t like the shaky camera shots and the font for the name of our film.

Film Poster & Magazine Cover FeedbackWe used paper and verbal feedback for our promotional products as this was quick and easy to receive and allowed us to get feedback from people who have been doing similar products to us, alongside others who have seen magazine covers and posters. We got feedback from people around college. It was useful to discover what people liked and disliked about our products and what they would improve if we were doing it again. For our Magazine people liked the picture, colouring of the magazine, and the way that it was not focused solely on our film and this made it look more realistic. For our poster, people liked the way the picture was taken from a location that our trailer was filmed in and the way the text was set out on the page. Some of the things people would have changed would have been:Magazine: too cluttered, use a different backgroundPoster: Tagline doesn’t stand out against the background, looks like there is a spelling mistake underneath the actors name.
