2. Do use a single source. Always double check the information that you get from one source with two to three other sources.

source. Understand the information of an online writer based on the context of what s/he is talking about. Do not use selected words or statements of others detached from the total picture of what their message is all about in order to just suit your own objectives.

1.Guard your privacy. What people know about you is up to you.

2.Protect your reputation. Self-reflect before you self-reveal. What’s funny or edgy today could cost you tomorrow.

3.Nothing is private online. Anything you say or do can be copied, pasted, and sent to gazillions of people without your permission.

4.Assume everyone is watching. There’s a huge, vast audience out there. If someone is your friend’s friend, they can see everything.

5.Apply the Golden Rule. If you don’t want it done to you, don’t do it to someone else.

6.Choose wisely. Not all content is appropriate. You know what we mean.

7.Don't hide. Using anonymity to cloak your actions doesn’t turn you into a trustworthy, responsible human being.

8.Think about what you see. Just because it’s online doesn’t make it true.

9.Be smart, be safe. Not everyone is who they say they are. But you know that.

There’s More…….1.Be Nice – it seems

like a no-brainer, but if you’re nice to someone, they have no reason not to be nice right back!

2.Be Clear – since it’s so easy to misunderstand someone without seeing or hearing them, be sure to keep your meaning clear. A lot of fights could be avoided if people tried hard not to be vague.

3. Be the Better Person – if someone is being mean to you, don’t be mean right back or you could find yourself in a Flame War. It takes the better person to just walk away from an argument.

4. Be Careful – if someone is really bothering you online, tell a trusted adult about your experience. This way, you can enjoy the Internet without worrying about being bothered in the future.
