Aquatic Plants• Some aquatic plants float with their roots

hanging down in the water. These are called floating plants.

• Some aquatic plants grow completely under water and these are called submerged plants.

• Some aquatic plants have some parts growing in water and some parts above the water surface. These are called partially submerged plants.

If we look closely at some plants, we can find many small living things that live and reproduce on the plants.

Many of these living things may even spend their whole life on a single plant.

We can consider such a single plant a habitat.

Seashore Habitat

A seashore consists of rocky ledges with pools of salty water, pebbles and other non-living things such as air and sunlight.

The plants and animals interact with one other and with their habitat (the non-living surroundings).

Depending on its situation, a rocky shore may be in an exposed or sheltered area.
