1. DIVISION OF WORK
Work should be divided among individuals and groups to ensure that effort and attention are focused on special portions of the task. Fayol presented work specialization as the best way to use the human resources of the organization.

2. AUTHORITY
Managers must have the authority to give orders, but they must also keep in mind that with authority comes responsibility.
paktia university
3. DISCIPLINE
Employees must obey and respect the rules that govern the organization. Penalties should be applied judiciously to encourage this common effort.

4. UNITY OF COMMAND
Workers should receive orders from only one manager.
paktia university
5. UNITY OF DIRECTION
The entire organization should be moving towards a common objective in a common direction.
paktia university
6. SUBORDINATION OF INDIVIDUAL INTERESTS TO THE GENERAL INTERESTS
The interests of one person should not take priority over the interests of the organization as a whole.
paktia university
7. REMUNERATION
Employee satisfaction depends on fair remuneration for everyone. This includes financial and non-financial compensation.
paktia university
8. CENTRALIZATION
: to bring (things that are in different places) together at a single point or place: to bring (something) under the control of one authority
paktia university
9. SCALAR CHAIN
The line of authority from top management to the lowest ranks represents the scalar chain. Communications should follow this chain. However, if following the chain creates delays, cross-communications can be allowed if agreed to by all parties and superiors are kept informed.
paktia university
10. ORDER
People and materials should be in the right place at the right time.
paktia university
11. EQUITY
Managers should be kind and fair to their subordinates and All employees should be treated as equally as possible.
paktia university
12. STABILITY OF TENURE OF PERSONNEL
'STABILITY' means no frequent change, termination and transfer etc. It means that, in an organisation whenever an employee is appointed for a job, he/she shouldn't be removed from that position frequently.
paktia university
13. INITIATIVE
Management should take steps to encourage worker initiative, which is defined as new or additional work activity undertaken through self direction.
