What is film distribution?• This is the process of creating a movie with is appropriate to be
watched by a certain audience.
• The distributer’s job is to market and represent your film
• As a film can only be released once it is crucial to get the campaign for it correct

months of post-production and editing
Distributor's develops release strategy, considers release date delivery and
takes delivery of a master print
Distributors presents the film to exhibitors and negotiates
agreements to have it shown in cinemas
Distributors market the campaign and launch in to
the target audience
Film runs - extends any number of weeks
to demand
After it’s run in cinemas, the film is release in subsequent
windows (home entertainment)
