The projector casts the image onto the interactive whiteboard.

Board is both the monitor and input device

The SMART Board comes with four pens & one eraser.

Pick up a pen from the pen tray and write on the Board.

To erase, remove the eraser from the pen tray and move it in a smooth motion over the notes. Your notes will disappear.

The features you use most are literally at your fingertips with the Floating Tools toolbar.

Accessing SMART Board Tools

Press the SMART Board icon in the Windows Notification Area at the bottom right of your screen. The SMART Board Tools menu will appear.

Notebook – the best for SmartBoard. Its benefit is that you can keep what

you write, draw, etc on file to re-use or as evidence of teaching delivered.

When you use PowerPoint in conjunction with a SMART Board, presentations become more collaborative & relevant to your audience.

The Slide Show toolbar automatically appears when you are viewing your PowerPoint presentation as a slide show with SmartBoard.

1. Press to go to the previous slide in your presentation.

2. Press to open the Command Menu.

3. Press to go to the next slide in your presentation.

For emphasis, you want to draw your audience’s attention to the items listed on your PowerPoint slide.

Pick up a pen from the SMART Pen Tray and place a tick beside each point as you discuss it.
