Word Figure Ground Reversal- Criteria & Objective

• Students will take a short four letter word and create the letters through figure ground reversals.

• Students will use graphite, markers or pen & ink, and an eraser to remove pencil marks once the design is inked.

• Students must use a short word and create each letter through figure ground reversals, a change between positive and negative.

• Students should incorporate the content of the word into the design.

• The objective of this assignment is to explore negative and positive space relationships by creating figure ground reversals with simple content.
