Elementary schools• Elementary Level Reduction in teachers results in reduced need for

specialist teachers (art, music, PE, Spanish) 4 teachers reduced from 1.0 to .8

• General music program intact K-5

• Instrumental music (Band, Strings) at grade 5 mayor may not eliminated at this time as the decision is dependent on how the Middle School schedule will allow for music personnel to be available to teach at the elementary level. We hope to offer the instrumental program and the Director of Music believes we can continue to offer the program but the scheduling of available personnel will dictate the future of the program. Schedule challenges include the reduction of music personnel K-12 and also the reduction of other elementary specialists. There will be less flexibility in assigning staff across the facilities and also the travel time may have a negative impact.
