Each spring,Fresno Statestudents enrolledin a class called“Touring Theatre”perform forelementary schoolsthroughout SanJoaquin Valley.
One of the university's most extensivecommunity outreach programs
Tradition for over 40years
Travels to more than30 schools and over16,000 children in asingle season
Finances and Support
Primary support comes from the institution Schools pay a nominal fee to help cover
production and travel costs Scholarship Endowment - Annual Scholarship
awarded to a theatre major who has madethe most outstanding contribution to the TFYAprogram during the previous year
Department Support
Tour considered regular part of the productionseason (including both faculty and majors)
University Theatre box office handles all ofthe bookings
Production staff supervises and/or providestechnical support in all design areas
Per diems for student performers/crewmembers on performance days
Company/Stage Manager paid studentassistant
