  1. 1. 4.1 THE GEOGRAPHIC DISCOVERIES Performed by: ngel Mrquez de Torres, Emilio Garca Trujillo, Antonio Jos Bejarano Morano and Pablo Martnez Garca.
  2. 2. CAUSES OF DISCOVERIES: The need of the europeans to find new rutes for come to Asia. (Spices). Search of gold and metal precious. Technical advances: use of the compass and of the astrolabe. The adventurous spirit and the zeal of enrichment. The existence of two monarchies: Portugal and Castilla.

  4. 4. THE PORTUGAL'S EXPANSION Thanks to the infante don Enrique the Navigator, explored the coast of Africa up to coming to Asia. The Portuguese expansion conquered Ceuta, the Cape of Good Hope, India and Brazil.
  5. 5. THE CASTILLA'S EXPANSION Castilla, it followed Christopher Coln, was based on the theory of which the Earth was round. Christopher Coln departed from Palos (Huelva), they came to Guanahan's island and discovered Cuba and Haiti, Colon discovered America. In 1494 Spain and Portugal signed Tordesillas's agreement, which divided South America in two.
  6. 6. CONSECUENCIES: Economic: it provoked raises of price, and new cultures. The trade I move from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean. Socials: the emigration produces a demographic change, diffusion of diseases and a change of races. Cultures: revolution of the geography. The culture the language and the religion moved to America.
