This is a curb ramp that is sloped to its ADA requirements,. These ADA ramps require a maximum slope 1:12 so that people that require wheelchairs can easily get up to the sidewalk elevation without further injury.


Aggregate - Porous

This aggregate is designed to be used as a base material for future roadway repairs. Also, the aggregate can serve as reinforcement to add strength to the overall composite material.

This is generally located one foot up from the base of a tree. Caliper means the diameter of the trunk. It is a stronger indication of age than height of a tree.

The standard curb is edge where a raised pavement, sidewalk, road median, or road shoulder meets an upraised street or other roadway size. Also, a curb in a parking lot design, tells cars where to stop.

Curb cuts placed at street intersections allow someone in a wheelchair, or bicycle to move onto or off a sidewalk without difficulty. Also, curb cuts are section of curb that naturally drops down to a lower elevation. Both ends of the curb are cut down to a lower level in this picture.


Curb Cut Ramp

Curb cut ramps blend smoothly down from a sidewalk to a street, rather than abruptly ending with a curb and dropping roughly 4–6 inches. A curb cut ramp in a sidewalk is similar to an ADA ramp because it is used to promote accessibility. An area of land that slopes equally from both sides. This is designed as a drainage system because it controls the flow of rain water. Swales can be natural or manmade,and are designed to trap particulate pollutants(suspended solids and trace metals), promoteinfiltration, and reduce the flow velocity of storm water runoff.


Zero Lot Line

N/E of the corner of E. Broadway and E. Main St.Port Jefferson, NY

A home that is built almost entirely up to the edges of its property.
