What is the CCsd gifted eligibility process?

System-wide TestingCogAT: Mental Abilities test September 29, 30, October 1 Grades 1 & 3

IOWA: Achievement testOctober 5,6,7,8th Grades 3 & 5

CCSD Schools use results from October system-wide testing for Automatic Referrals for gifted services (end of November).

Automatic referralsCCSD Automatic Testing Referral Criteria:

Permission to Test forms sent home for students qualifying for additional testing.

Window 2 Testing: Target TestingDecember 1-18Creativity/Motivation rating scales are completed for all students having a qualifying mental ability or achievement score.Students who have rating scales and mental abilities/achievement scores that meet minimum state requirements will be offered additional testing during this windowStudents are evaluated on all 4 criteria, which determine additional testing opportunitiesMental abilityAchievementCreativityMotivationResults sent to parents at the end of December.

Window 3: Kindergarten TestingMay 2016

Students will be identified through data collected throughout the school year that indicates that the child consistently goes above and beyond the Kindergarten standards in the classroom setting

Students have another opportunity for testing four months later, in the fall of first grade
