How to play: “Matching Definitions To A Word”

Separate the cards into 2 piles: trick-or-treat bags and candy. Pass out all the candy cards. Leave the trick-or-treat bag cards in a pile face down. Teacher turns over top trick-or-treat bag card and reads the word. Students check their candy cards to find the matching definitions to go with the word on the trick-or-treat bag card. If they have a definition to go with the word on that trick-or-treat bag card, they put it on the trick-or-treat bag card. The first student to lose all his candy cards is the winner. If session ends before someone loses all their cards, then the student with the least amount of cards is the winner.

Prepare: Print cards (on pages 3-5) on cardstock (for durability), laminate and cut apart.
