Some symptoms of diabetes are:
• Poor wound healing• Unexplainable weight loss• Excessive thirst• Excessive urination• Excessive eating

For seniors, the benefits of healthy eating includes
increase in mental acuteness, resistance to illness
and disease, higher energy levels a more robust
immune system, faster recuperation times and
better management of chronic health problems.
WHAT IS ANEMIA? Anemia is a medical condition in which the red
blood cell count or hemoglobin is less than normal.
CAUSES OF ANEMIA
Any process that can disrupt the normal life span of
a red blood cell may cause anemia. Therefore it is
caused by two ways:
• a decrease in production of red blood cell or
hemoglobin
• a loss or destruction of blood

• Adequate quantity of protein should be present in diet.
• Foods rich in iron like green leafy vegetables, plantain and whole
grain cereals
• Food rich in vitamin B complex and particularly B6 like parboiled rice,
liver and milk
