COMPONENTS OF ACTION PLAN PORTAL RESOURCE CENTRE INCLUDING COMMUNITY SERVICES IN CURRICULUM BETTER VISIBILITY OF HEIS INVOLVEMENT IN SOCIETY 4. PORTAL A mechanism to engage different stakeholders including students, teachers, educational institutes, CBOs. To have the best possible combination for the student The needs of the community are valued. Generating awareness about CBOs work. Purpose of Portal to create awareness and improve access to community services. 5. ESSENTIAL DIMENSIONS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE NEED INTERVENTION EVALUATIO N 6. RESOURCE CENTRE IN COMMUNITY SERVICES Capacity building of all stakeholders Basic orientation of students and teachers towards community services Sensitizing them towards the community Convergence and exchange within disciplines to centralize the process Evaluation and feedback both at departmental level and central level. 7. INCLUDING COMMUNITY SERVICES IN CURRICULUM Make it mandatory for departments of different higher education institutes to include EFA initiatives in their curriculum. Mentoring and sensitization at department level. Forming a link between the discipline and the EFA initiatives. 8. BETTER VISIBILITY OF HEIS INVOLVEMENT IN SOCIETY Acknowledging, awarding and appreciating the efforts of both students and teachers. Different forms of media can be used. 9. Reflection on ones efforts and involvement also essential for personal growth and contribution towards the community. Bidirectional process- Students are learning and community is benefitting.
