• Research Type The type of research undertaken for this project is DESCRIPTIVE RESEARCH as I had no control over the state of affairs and could report what was happening in the market at present.

• Research design Quantitative research design has been used in this project which involves survey of 100 readers.

• Sampling Convenience sampling is used in this project It is the sampling which is used when the selection of units from the population is based on easy availability.

Readers SuggestionsReaders Suggestions• A lot can be improved. So many advertisements are given in

Meerut plus so it should be avoid. • Information should be informative.

• It is impossible to cover all the important news only in 4 pages. So Meerut plus should come daily basis. If it is not possible it should come at least 3 or 4 days.

 • Entertainment part should be eliminated because Meerut plus

repeats it from main news papers.  • Health section is very valuable. Food section should be eliminated

it is useless.

• Most readers of the times of India’s are students so more and more education related news should be published in Meerut plus.

FindingsFindings • Most of readers read Meerut Plus very keenly. Because they have

enough information about Meerut plus. • The expectation level of readers is very high from Meerut plus,

because Meerut plus is the part of The Times of India. • Readers find that health section is very valuable.  • Some readers said that a lot of advertisements are given in

Meerut plus. Meerut plus should avoid advertisement. They said that only 4 pages are there in Meerut plus, advertisement covers most of area. 

• Readers want that it should come daily. Because it is impossible to cover all the happenings only in 4 pages. Some readers also suggested that, if it is not possible it should come at least 3 or 4 day.

• Some readers criticized Meerut plus very severely for advertisement and food section. They don’t find food section useful. 

• Some students said that, most readers of The Times of India are student so they should focus on student.

RecommendationRecommendation • News should be more informative. Readers don’t find food section

informative. It should be eliminated. • Some news which are published in Meerut plus, are repeated from main

news paper (TOI), like entertainment. So it should be avoided. • Meerut plus can also focus on students. Because its most of readers are

students. More and more educational news can be published. • Readers were dissatisfied from advertisement. Meerut plus should

decrease number of advertisements. • In first two pages only that news should be published, which is related to

Meerut. Readers said that Meerut plus publishes very few news about Meerut. 

• Local contents are less because only four pages are there in Meerut plus. Numbers of pages are less. So it is impossible to cover all the happenings in four pages. Number of pages should be increased. 

• The development of Meerut is not highlighted. It should be noticed.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION• Meerut Plus is not a successful newspaper in

terms of local news as compared to other local Hindi newspapers .

• Meerut plus is read because it is supplement of The Times of India.

• This can be attributed to many factors like language, insufficient local news, and lesser pages.

• Published only 2 days in a week.• Lot of advertisement are given in Meerut Plus.
