How I used media technologies in the construction of my Film Poster & Magazine Front Cover...

• In the production phase of both products I used the same software (Adobe CS6 Photoshop). Before my advanced portfolio, I have never used this software before so tackling this task at first was quite difficult as I had a very basic and beginners knowledge of this programme. However, I thought this software allowed me to be creative by letting me use lots of effects to create both products. The software in my opinion is very professional, which helped me into making the most professional product I could with my ability and knowledge of the software.

Hardware

• For both main images in my two ancillary texts I used my I Pad to take the images. This was more simple and easier to use as I could access it at anytime unlike the camera and then all I had to do was simply transfer the images through email to the editing suite.

Software

• For both film poster and magazine front cover I used two types of software which required the internet. One type of software was Google for searching similar products that are in the same genre as mine and the codes and conventions of both film posters and magazine front covers. Google was very useful as it gave me a wide range of answers and a better knowledge of such areas that both texts involve…

• YouTube was also very helpful as it provided me with specific tutorials that assisted me into creating an overall better professional product. Because this was the first time of using CS6 Photoshop software, YouTube was a huge help as it helped me gain a better knowledge of the programme and also gaining slightly better knowledge into creating more professional effects.
