Malnutrition is a medical condition caused by an improper or insufficient diet.

TWO TYPES:– UNDERNUTRITION: consumption, poor

absorption, or excessive loss of nutrients – OVERNUTRITION: overeating or excessive intake

of specific nutrients

UNDERSTAND: both starvation and obesity are forms of malnutrition

Malnutrition examples

Undernutrition is associated with extreme poverty in developing nations. It is often found in countries with civil unrest, natural disasters, and famine.

Overnutrition occurs with inappropriate dieting, overeating, or the absence of a balanced diet in developed countries.
