Look at the definition of impulse control. Discuss with your partner what it means and what do kids your age have the most trouble with.

**Being able to control your impulses is a key to success in life. This week we will be focusing on two types = actions and words.

ACTIONS: Put a piece of candy in front of you. Set the stop watch for 5 minutes. Sit down at a table by yourself, do not talk to others, and do not get up. If you can wait 5 minutes to eat the candy you may have another piece. If you give in you DO NOT receive a second piece. After you complete the activity, mark on the board your data. Watch the and marshmallows. Come watch this on your teacher’s Chromebook.

WORDS: Words and attitude out of your mouth can be very damaging to others. Watch talk about what should come out of your mouth. Discuss with a partner your reaction to the video. Come watch this on your teacher’s Chromebook.

Complete both projects.1. Wrinkled Heart2. Filter or Share Turn the Filter or Share into the Turn In Tray.Take your heart baggies home and give to others. Turn in your response sheet about the baggies.

Questions?

1. Begin by rereading the directions! 2. Next, ask your Driving Partner. 3. If your partner does not know, ask a Subject

Expert. 4. If all else fails, find me and wait politely until I

am able to answer your question.

LIFE SKILL: Take responsibility and search for the needed information. Do not rely on others for basic information.
