Weather

In winter, the snow is everywhere. Even in Stockholm the temperatures reach -6° C in winter, and in summer there could be at maximum 20°. But that’s in the coast, and at the south of Sweden, so the temperatures are a lot lower in other cities and towns.

Also, in winter, the light of the day last just 3 or 4 hours.

Because of the cold climate, Swedes play winter sports in snow and ice, like snowboarding, ski, ice hockey, etc. There are more activities in summer, like several

celebrations and holidays.

The language

Swedes speaks swedish, and its alphabet consists in the classic occidental letters (A-Z), plus unique vowels:ä, ö, and å.

Swedish is kind of similar than german, in the pronunciation.

One of the special characteristics of this country is that practically every swede have a very high level of english.

Work and money

Almost every worker must know english. It’s not necessary to know swedish really.

Swedes have 5 weeks paid vacation, and even more if you are old or work for the government.

People earn a lot of money and the prices of the things are very low in contrast.

Taxes are high (up to 57%, and normally 30%), but by this way the life quality is very high. (In fact, currently, Sweden is the country with the highest taxes in all Europe)

Customs

▷ Swedish doesn’t use shoes inside their homes. They use socks. This is because of the snow and the precaution from damaging the floor.

▷ They also use a lot the bicycles, custom motivated by the city design.

▷ They use clean and renewable energy.

▷ Even in summer, they always take their fika.

200 years of peace

Sweden has not been involved in any war in 201 years, since the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815.

They have not wasted time thinking in war; we could say they are more evolved by this reason, and from 201 years ago they have used their brains only in progress.

ConclusionSweden is a developed and great country that others like

latin american countries must try to imitate to progress and improve life quality of people. The total greatness of this country doesn’t fit in a presentation, this is just a summary.
