What is Inquiry based learning?
“Inquiry is based on the belief that understanding is constructed in the process of people working and conversing together as they pose and solve the problems, make discoveries and rigorously testing the discoveries that arise in the course of shared activity. “http://www.galileo.org/inquiry-what.html
How does Inquiry look?
Inquiry is a study into a worthy question, issue, problem or idea.
It is the type of work that those working in the disciplines actually undertake to create or build knowledge.
Therefore, inquiry involves serious engagement and investigation and the active creation and testing of new knowledge.

Process
Questioning is the heart of inquiry learning.
Students must ask relevant questions and develop ways to search for answers and generate explanations.
Emphasis is placed upon the process.
Teacher as activator
Personalization
Divergent thinking is encouraged and nurtured as students recognize that questions often have more than one "good" or "correct" answer.
Such thinking leads in many instances to elaboration of further questions.

As educators, we can probably model collaborative learning communities best if we are members of one.
Right now, Rockyview School Division is kindly hosting a Provincial Hub.

“The usual mantra is to try harder. Trying harder is impossible when you’re already trying as hard as
you can. But you can always try different” – Seth Godin
