Thailand is a country located at the centre of the Indo-china peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is bordered to the north by Burma and Laos, to the east by Laos and Cambodia, to the south by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia, and to the west by the Andaman Sea and the southern extremity of Burma. Thailand is a constitutional monarchy, which is headed by King Rama IX, the ninth king of the House of Chakri, after being reigned since 1946, is the world's longest-serving current head of state and the longest-reigning monarch in Thai history. Thai's maritime boundaries include Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand to the southeast, and Indonesia and India in the Andaman Sea to the southwest. It is presently a newly industrialized country and a major exporter. Tourism also contributes major significantly to the Thai economy.

Its real name is one of the longest names of a place in the world, made up of Pali and Sanskrit root words  means “City of Angels, Great City of Immortals, Magnificent City of the Nine Gems, Seat of the King, City of Royal Palaces, Home of Gods Incarnate, city given by Indra and built by Vishnukarn .” (Bangkok name is for Foreigner)

 Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country that was never colonized by an European country. In fact, in the Thai language, the name of the country is Prathet Thai which means “land of the free.”

Thailand is where you’ll find the smallest creature of the world.

Thailand is made up of approximately 1,430 islands. Ko Phi, Phi, Ko Tao, Ko Chang , Phuket are some of the famous island among them. Many of the Island have become famous for being featured in Hollywood films. A popular habit of return visitors is to “try out” new islands.

The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782. The king, his court and his royal government were based on the grounds of the palace until 1925.

The highest statue in the Kingdom (and ninth in the world) is located in the Wat Muang monastery in Ang Thong province, approximately 140 kilometers north of Bangkok. Known in Thai as Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin, it stands 92 meters high and 63 meters wide, and took 18 years to build, opening to the public in 2008.

The Full Moon Party is an all-night beach party that originated in Haad Rin on the island of Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand on the night of, before or after every full Moon. It is mostly attended by tourists. The first Full Moon Party was improvised at a Paradise Bungalows on the beach in 1985.

The street is a tourist attraction that draws foreigners and Thai nationals, primarily for its night life. The Walking Street

area includes seafood restaurants live music venues, beer bars, discothèques, sports bars, nightclubs and hotel.
