The next day brought us to Pompeii,

The city was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE.

Page 2: Italy Trip Part 2

Our Latin text book led us

through the life of a Pompeian

merchant named

Caecilius, and this is his ACTUAL house!

Page 3: Italy Trip Part 2

Our final

city was in

Rome, and first stop,

the Trevi Fountain!

Page 4: Italy Trip Part 2

This obelisk, though ancient

, is actuall

y a fake!

There is a mistake in the hieroglyphics at the top!

In Vatican City, we toured a few of their many museums.

Page 6: Italy Trip Part 2

The coliseum was amazing to see in person.

Page 7: Italy Trip Part 2

I even made friends with Caesar and Octavian

outside!

Page 8: Italy Trip Part 2

Speaking of Caesar…

Page 9: Italy Trip Part 2

This is the Theater of Pompey,

where Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BCE.

Page 10: Italy Trip Part 2

The forum was the town center of Rome.

Page 11: Italy Trip Part 2

The Pantheon was suppose to be the most remarkable

building of its time.

Page 12: Italy Trip Part 2

Simply breathtaking.

Page 13: Italy Trip Part 2

On our last day

we explored

the remains of the

ancient Forum,

Page 14: Italy Trip Part 2

Augustus’ palace,

Page 15: Italy Trip Part 2

and what is thought to be his bed room.

Page 16: Italy Trip Part 2

This trip is really my motivation for wanting to

study ancient history.

Page 17: Italy Trip Part 2

It’s incredible to stand where greats like Caesar stood, and to see what he saw. Its a feeling a cannot

even describe.

Page 18: Italy Trip Part 2

The best part is that there are new discoveries made

everyday.

Page 19: Italy Trip Part 2

Hopefully one day I will

make a discovery of my

own.
