Criterion A• Initial Consultation– An interview with your client– Focus on investigating the current situation
and its problems– Do not focus on a solution (you do not know
the best solution yet)– Video record the interview for future
reference and as evidence– Used to write a clear summary of the
situation and its problems for the Initial Investigation.

Open and Closed QuestionsYour interview needs to provide you with enough detail to explain the current situation and its problems. Which is better:
Closed question:“Does your current system have problems”“Yes.”
Open question:“What problems does your current system have?”“One of the main problems is…..”

questions provided.• Create a transcript of the interview in the
Initial_Consultation.rtf document• The transcript should include a header
including the interview date, location, interviewer and interviewee
