What we do

DGE makes sure that national policies are implemented regarding the pedagogical and

didactic components of pre-school, primary, lower and upper secondary education, as well as the provision of education for children not attending school (curricula, exams, all types of ‘normal’ and ‘special’ didactics support)

ERTE multidisciplinary team in charge of designing, developing and evaluating initiatives

and projects related to the use of digital tools and resources in education, involving all educational agents (students and teachers alike) (ICT curriculum integration)

Curriculum Targets, which are taught in an ICT

subject, years 7 and 8 [ages 12-14].

Other activites • National Defence Day:

about 130,000 18 - year olds participate in a workshop on digital

security promoted by Seguranet thoughout the year.

• SeguraNet Challenges:

about 25,000 participants enrolled last school year.

• Providing information and resources (online and offline)

in multiple formats for each of the targets.

Organizational aspects

Best practice is widely disseminated, hoping for a “contagion effect”;

During SID Week schools were invited to organize initiatives and

activities revolving around Internet Safety. About 50 municipalities

were involved.

Involvement in the "No to Hate Speech Online"Campaign ;

SeguraNet for disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds:

partnerships with the Institute of Child Support, the Police and

Programa Escolhas.

eTwinning is…

An initiative of the European Commission to give an

opportunity to as many EU children as possible to

communicate with other children in other EU countries using Information and Communication Technologies at school.
