How Does the PSAT Compare to the SAT?

Question TypesThe same, except the PSAT/NMSQT does not have an essay component

LengthThe PSAT/NMSQT is 2 hours, 10 minutes.The SAT is 3 hours, 45 minutes.

Level of DifficultyThe PSAT/NMSQT does not have 11th

grade-level math questions.

Sign up: Pay $20 to the cashier (Plaza Level) before deadline

Deadline to register: Monday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m.

Test Day/Date: Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011

ADVANCED PLACEMENT EXAMS

Recommend: If AP test content is similar to what you are already studying in class:

AP Calculus AB or BC – if in Math HLAP Micro economics – if in Economics HL

In general, it is not essential for ISM students to take additional AP exams as universities do not expect IB students

to submit AP scores. See your counselor for more information.
