Philosophical Chairs Expectations

First of all, put your head down and close your eyes. Those of you who agree with the statement, raise your hand.(the purpose of the head down and eyes closed is for your opinion not to be swayed by peers

Those with your hand up need to get up and go to the agree corner. Those with your head down, go to the disagree corner.

Those undecided, please stand in the middle

Do not talk without the ball

Listen closely as others talk

Before stating your point, briefly rephrase what the previous person said. (i.e. Mr. Greene, this is what I heard you said. Now, my opinion is ______. Or I would like to add ________. This is why I disagree _____. But what if ________?)

You may change sides (flip flop) if you legitimately have a change of opinion.
