Thank you for a great beginning.
As of today, we have enrolled 534 students. Our school theme this year is:

LCE is a place where we develop
life-long learners who demonstrate Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Excellence (PRIDE) in their everyday lives.

Accountability - The 4 Index System
The new state accountability system incorporates
a wider range of measures than the old system. It is still very important for students to pass each test they take.
State Requirement 50 Lexington Creek 89
39 points higher than the state.
Index 1 - Student Achievement
The new state accountability system places
value on a student’s growth regardless of the achievement level of the student.
State Requirement 30 Lexington Creek 47
17 points higher than the state.
Index 2 -Student Progress
The new state accountability system places
increased emphasis on the performance of economically disadvantaged students while still focusing on the closing of achievement gaps for all student groups.
State Requirement 55 Lexington Creek 82
27 points higher than the state.
Index 3 – Closing Performance Gap
The new state accountability system holds
campuses and districts accountable for more than moving students to graduation. The system now values the types of courses students complete and the test scores of younger students that indicate they are on track for postsecondary success.
Index 4 – Postsecondary Readiness

grade level mini-science labs Increase higher level thinking skills through more

Strategies for Meeting our Goals
In an effort to increase our security at
LCE and for the protection of our students and faculty, effective Monday, September 23, 2013 parents and guardians will no longer be allowed to walk students to their classrooms.
If you need to speak to your student’s teacher, please email for an appointment.
Thank you for helping LCE to be a safe and secure school.

“Whose child is this?” I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play “Mine”, said the parent with a tender smile”
“Mine to keep a little while. To bathe his hands and comb his hair
To tell him what he is to wear, To prepare him that he may always be good,
And each day do the things he should”.
Whose Child is This?
“Whose child is this?” I asked again.
As the door opened and someone came in. “Mine”, said the teacher with the same tender
smile. “Mine, to keep just for a little while.
To teach him how to be gentle and kind, To train and direct his dear little mind,
To help him live by every rule, And get the best he can from school”.
“Whose child is this?” I asked once more,
Just as the little one entered the door. “Ours”, said the parent and the teacher as
they smiled And each took the hand of the little child
“Ours to love and train together. Ours this blessed task forever.”
