Rationale

Profile of learners:• describe ages and language level

They are university students who are studying their first semester of law . They are in average 17 years old. Most of them have studied English in their high school and just two have not studied English in high school.

• outline linguistic and affective needs

- This group shows an average level of A1.2. Most of them a high level of proficiency for the level and just two are behind. This is their last class of the day, so they are tired, sleepy and with rush to go home early.

• explain how learners’ needs relate to aims of the lesson

-Reading something about a home at sea, will make them imagine and think in an ideal home.

Anticipated problems

Students will use dictionary in the first reading

Planned solutions

Teacher will remind them when they are reading for finding the global idea it is not important to use dictionary

Student will solve a hot potato match puzzle individually. They can use online dictionaries( www.thefreedictionary), google in order to solve the activity.

Students will read the text through moodle platform and find the global idea among the options given.

Students will be explained through moodle platform the concept of true and false cognates. Also, they have to identify both true and false cognates through a multiple choice activity

Students will identify the synonyms of certain words based on the context

Students will solve the comprehension activity of the text.

Students will answer a True and False activity. In the true sentences they have to justify their answer
