LEARNING OBJECTIVES To learn the differences about vertebrates and invertebrates animals. To reinforce information about habitats. To work with Present Simple. To practice the listening, speaking, reading and writing macro-skills.
WARM UP The teacher will begin the class writing down the date. The teacher will ask students what they talked about last class.

DEVELOPMENT
First activity: The teacher will explain the differences between vertebrates and invertebrates by
asking the students what bones are. The teacher will introduce the activity in which the students have to classify and
match which animals are vertebrates and what animals are invertebrates. The teacher will check the activity with the students altogether on the board.
Type of interaction: Students individually.Macro-skills: reading and writing.Timing: 10 minutes.Materials: Textbook
Second activity:
The teacher will give an extra sheet of paper and individually students have to complete the gaps with the words VERTEBRATES or INVERTEBRATES.
The teacher will check the activity with the students altogether on the board.

Third activity:
The teacher will introduce a listening activity in which students are expected to tick the correct image.
The teacher will check the activity with the students altogether on the board.

Forth activity: The teacher will assign a reading activity with animals´descriptions and their
habitats in which students are expected to complete the gaps.
The teacher will ask if there are new vocabulary that students do not know. The teacher will check the activity with students altogether on the board.

Fifth activity:
The teacher will give an extra sheet of paper and individually students have to colour the animals with colour blue to identify that they are vertebrates and with colour red to identify that they are invertebrates.
The students have to write the name of the animal in the boxes. The teacher will check the activity with the students altogether on the board.
Colour the animals using colour BLUE to VERTEBRATES, and colour RED to INVERTEBRATES. Write
the name of the animals.

Homework: The teacher will ask the students to bring images of endangered animals from Argentina
for next class.
