What we offer

COMBINATION OF ANALOG AND DIGITAL TOOLSIt’s not about a new tool, but about the right tool for each specific project. Combining traditional, industrial and digital tools, students will be able to create whatever they want.

CREATIVE ENVIRONMENT TO DREAM AND PROTOTYPEDriven by invention and imagination, The Base becomes the place to aspire to, creating new possibilities and inventing new things.

GLOBAL CONNECTIONInstant collaboration with different partners, from the local and the global maker ecosystem, can provide skills and resources, to guide projects and stimulate self learning.

NETWORK OF MENTORSThe Base was designed to include groups, ideas, entrepreneurs, specialists, members of the community who can inspire and role model.

CORE VALUESEncourage diversity, inclusivity and transparency as important values.

COMMUNITY NEEDS AT THE CENTERFuel by its proximity with the communities, students will be able to work on real briefs that come out of local aspirations and needs.

Impact to our community

BRINGS A SOLUTION TO A REAL PROBLEMChanges in waste collection mean families will pay based on the amount of the waste generated.

IMMEDIATE BENEFIT“We want to clean and fix the things you need, together with you and your young sons and daughters”.

Our invitation is something with real value to any community. (Plus, we’ve already run the idea by street leaders in Otara, and they are fighting over who gets it first).

FIXING UNLEASHES CREATIVITYAs we work with young people and their families, they will be able to unleash creative capital from within their community. Young people will start to become creators, not consumers.

INCOME POTENTIALFixed materials, upcycled creations… there is a real possibility of selling these pieces. And this is the start of an entrepreneurial mindset and attitude.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE COMMUNITYYoung people are influenced by their everyday environment. The Pod takes the initiative to the neighbourhoods and act as catalyst for relationships between families.

fix-it Pod

#makerhood Fix-it Pod is meant to be a great, fun day of celebration for each street. And an opportunity for families to connect.

Portable, flexible and adaptable structures, filled with low tech and high tech tools, to help fix what’s broken and build using inorganic waste.
