2 years ago had 12 students on MSc in MM 1 year ago had 17 students on MSc in MM This year have 19 students on MSc in MM

Context of increasing number of MM courses in London and falling numbers on all M level courses in my department.

MMTV had limited amount of content and wasn’t strongly linked to the MSc Course (JISC)

Simple survey last year40% of students said MMTV was a factor in

coming to the UniversityOnly 1 student from 17 said it was the key

factor

Page 8: Making your content visible - Russell Stannard

Growing amount of content now on web 13.3% said MMTV was key factor 26% said it influenced their decision 73% said that the site provided them with

useful information about the course ( watch videos/look at content)

Similar figure looked at site as part of their process of finding out about course.

Comments seem to reveal that an even greater number of students actually thought that the site was important.

Most seemed to imply that it wasn’t a “Factor” in deciding to do the MSC in MM but it was important in providing information (about 70%)

Again it seems that if the “see” the sight it becomes important.

Real research will be this year (now have about 3 times as much content on MMTV).

Initially the course was produced with about £5,000.

1 students is worth about £7,500. The site is clearly playing a role in the

provision of information. 3 students in 2 years have joined because

of the site. 7 other students think it was an “important

factor”

60% of students had found the course on Google

We have used to the OER websites ( MMTV and TTV) to help push up the Google ranking of the MSc MM website
