Market Research Results I asked 18 teenagers at random to answer my market research questionnaire in order to find out where there were gaps in the music magazine industry and also to find out about my target audience’s musical and journalistic interests. Below are analysis’ of my results. From my results, it is clear that my target market favour Pop music above all but also enjoy House music. It also shows me that there is no market for a Punk or Metal magazine. This has assisted me in deciding to create an Pop magazine as it was the majority of my subject’s favourite genre. From this chart I can see that the most favoured magazine features of my target market are reviews and interviews. However, there is also some interest in chart updates and album releases.

Market Research Results

I asked 18 teenagers at random to answer my market research questionnaire in order to find out where there were gaps in the music magazine industry and also to find out about my target audience’s musical and journalistic interests.

By looking at my pie chart, I can see that most people read music magazines monthly which works well as it is a good amount of time to gather music news, reviews ect.

Most people that I gave questionnaires said they’d pay £1.51-£2 for a new music magazine with no one paying above £3 or under £1.

Through looking at my results, I have seen that there is a serious lack of good music magazines for teenagers as the majority of my subjects don’t read a music magazine. However, I could use Metal Hammer and Kerrang! to inform my design as they were popular amongst my target market.

I have chosen to call my music magazine ‘21st Century’ as it was the favourite alongside ‘New Sound’ amongst my subjects. I really like it because it’s unique and fits the modern image I want my magazine to have.

I will use Impact Label as my title font because not only was it the favourite of my target market (as seen in the pie chart) but it also fits the modern aesthetic of my indie magazine.

By looking at my pie chart I can see that Calibri is the most popular font for the main body of text in my music magazine. It is clear and modern looking so it will be perfect.
