MATHEMATICAL GEMS OF SCHOOLS Mathematics is a great invention in education and has equipped several individuals to come up with innumerable formulas and theorems in order to solve or prove a particular mathematical problem. As kids we often would have questioned ourselves as to why do we need to study so many theorems and find the value of “x” when in our practical lives we would never have to use it! Well, as complicated as the question is, so is its answer; it’s true that not every individual would use maths as a subject in their later years of education but one must always learn the basics because it is the foundation of every learning. Importance of Mathematics If foundation is weak then the structure of our learning and knowledge is bound to erode with time. In every school, there are some exceptionally brilliant mathematical geniuses who love to play with numbers. Their quick calculations and easy going way with problem solving often leads them to be a part of several quizzes, competitions, etc. Schools take immense pride in their gems as these handfuls bring laureates, glory and honour to the school, the teachers and their parents. A subject like maths is not always a likable one, but there are ways in which students could be made to not only like, but rather love the subject. Classroom, board teaching could be made fun by not simply scribbling a problem sum and asking a student to solve it, instead a teacher can generate interest amidst the student by relating a problem sum to a real- life scenario and replacing it with numerical. It so happens that human brain, psychologically tends to switch off itself, if it comes across too much technical terms or uninteresting subjects, but if a tutor can make it sound interesting then the attention span could be increased and the due interest within the child for the subject could goad the child into solving the sums simultaneously one after the other. About Quality Education It is true that every individual cannot become a jack of all trades but they could surely be able to manage a few here and there. The only factor that holds of great importance in the present time is the level of interest in the child to learn something. If there is no interest then no matter how interesting the teacher tries to make the subject, it will absolutely bear no result at all. MATHEMATICAL GEMS OF SCHOOLS

Mathematics is a great invention in education and has equipped several individuals to come up with innumerable formulas and theorems in order to solve or prove a particular mathematical problem.

Importance of Mathematics

If foundation is weak then the structure of our learning and knowledge is bound to erode with time.

Classroom, board teaching could be made fun by not simply scribbling a problem sum and asking a student to solve it, instead a teacher can generate interest amidst the student by relating a problem sum to a real-life scenario and replacing it with numerical. It so happens that human brain, psychologically tends to switch off itself, if it comes across too much technical terms or uninteresting subjects, but if a tutor can make it sound interesting then the attention span could be increased and the due interest within the child for the subject could goad the child into solving the sums simultaneously one after the other.

About Quality Education
