I. CONTEXTUAL FACTORS MDD Standard 1 The teacher candidate collects data regarding the institutional and classroom contexts, the characteristics of the pupils as a group and its diversity, using this information to plan and deliver instruction. 1.Community in which the school is located and/or serves, municipality or owner and school factors: Below, describe the geographic location, community and school population, socioeconomic profile, and race/ethnicity. A: Cruz Del Sur E-485 school is located in Talcahuano city, which is a vulnerable port near Concepcin city in the 8th region. This is a public Elementary school, which is subsidized by the DAEM of Talcahuano, and it is placed in J. Guillermo Sosa Severino 318 Street, in Los Condores Neighborhood. Around the school there is a populated village where the majority of the students live. The population of students achieves 495 having an average of 26 per every level.The school; however, it is also possible to find some vulnerable students, who are part of governmental programs in order to improve the quality of their education. As it is a public school neither the parents nor the students pay any monthly fee. The enrollment and other charges are cost by the national educational budget, which is managed by the DAEM. This school also belongs to the preferential education program, which gives a higher financial support to the school with the idea of overcome limitations. Thus, there is a computational laboratory implemented for English classes, in which there is a Teacher who is an English teacher too, and is always at the lab for assisting and supporting the English teachers with the use of the soft wares and controlling the students behavior; he also teaches the class and give instructions and tasks to students. In terms of race and ethnicity, the school has enrolled a Colombian family, who are two children. One of them attends to 6th grade and the other one to 8th grade; and a Panamanian teacher who carries out a basketball workshop at the school. These children and teacher are treated in the same condition of the Chilean students and teachers; they have all the opportunities and materials given by the state. 1.1. These factors can influence the way in which we teach, because at the moment of planning we need to consider our students' interests and preferences. The socioeconomic profile can give us an idea of the environment that surrounds them. Additionally, having the knowledge of the neighborhood in which the school is immersed helps us to comprehend social difficulties that our students can have. Thanks to the preferential budget the majority of the classroom used to possess a projector, which is useful for the students to listen, watch and share new authentic material in order to improve the acquisition of the content; however, students, nowadays, spend all the English classes at the laboratory, so classes must be planned for that environment, using computers, listening activities and ICTs. 2.Student Characteristics and Their Instructional Implications: Below, describe how two student characteristics you observed in your student (e.g., gender, race/ethnicity, interests, and student skill levels) might impact the way you instruct those students. For example, your planning, motivation, management, or assessment. For each example of the student characteristic, give a specific instructional implication that will influence how you plan and implement your instruction.

2.1 Description of the First Student:In the classroom there is a student named Anais Tapia, who is very quiet and shy during the class. She works very well on her own and her level of knowledge is higher than the rest of the students, but she is afraid of speaking in public.

2.1.1 How these characteristics will impact my lesson:In this case, I will have to include activities where students can participate without being too exposed to their classmates, but at the same time try to incorporate her to the class group so she can start interacting with her classmates and feeling more self-confident, for instance, writing answers on the board, or pair work activities.

2.2 Description of the Second Student:The student I will mention in this opportunity is Monserrat . She is a very participative student; every time she does not understand something she looks for help and clarification so she gets to understand the topic and activities and when she is clear about what to do, she also helps her classmates. She has improved her marks and always looked for challenging activities.

2.1.2 How these characteristics will impact my lesson:Having these aspects into consideration will help my lesson planning in terms of doing more challenging activities in order to reach our students expectations. In addition, having these types of students in the classroom is useful because they can work as monitors in the classroom, which at the same time, promotes collaborative work.

3.Physical Aspects of the Classroom and Their Instructional Implications: Below, describe how two physical aspects of the classroom you observed (e.g., posters, room arrangement, technology) might impact the way you instruct students, for example, planning, motivation, management, or assessment. For each example, give a specific instructional implication that will influence how you plan and implement your instruction.

3.1 Description of First Physical Aspect:

Students spend all their English classes at the laboratory. The lab has 36 computers which are divided in to groups with a small aisle in between. Every student has his/her own computer assigned so he/she must always use the same computer.

3.1.1 How This Aspect Will Impact My Lesson This aspect influences my lesson, because we need to consider that the lesson must be designed thinking in this particular way of arrangement. Students cannot change their seat; as a consequence, they always interact with the same classmates.

3.2 Description of Second Physical Aspect:

A second physical important aspect into the classroom is the fact the classroom itself is quite small and the desks where the computers are placed are like separated cabins.3.2.1 How This Aspect Will Impact My Lesson This aspect influences enormously the way in which we need to design my lesson, because students cannot move around the classroom because there is no enough space, and the design of the desk does not encourage interaction among students, on the contrary, it divides them even more and makes their work more individual. 4. Reflects on the importance of knowing about students and the context to provide quality teaching

First of all, knowing our students and their context is useful for us in order to plan our classes according to their necessities. Also, it promotes meaningful learning so they can feel identified when participating in the class.When we know our students it is noticeable, so they perceive that they are important for us. As a result, it leads the whole group to have a better relationship Students-Teacher with more reliance and engagement.
