How does your magazine compare with the ones

you’ve got??? • The content in the 5 chosen are identical to my magazine, as they include musical interviews and

facts, I use a rock styled language, so not punctual, a very laid back approach. I have done this to appeal to younger audiences, as it will strike their eyes more. The big difference from my magazine with these magazines, is that I am focusing on small bands, and local bands, not mainstream and cliché bands, this however is a big difference when compared with the 5 magazines chosen.

• The images used in my magazine and the 5 that I have chosen are very similar, mainly as they all focus on one artist, and make them the focus point of the photograph. I have done this on every photo I have taken, made one person the focus point. The only difference with my photos when compared with theirs, are the conditions. Mine were taken outside in a wooded area, the other 5 magazines are taken in professional studios.

• The fonts used in the 5 magazines and mine are identical, bold unique fonts, so that hey stand out as a big part of the magazine, but don't distract attention from anything else. The other good thing about the fonts used is that there easy to read, and don't create any difficulty to readers.

• The language used in my magazine is very similar to that used in the 5 chosen magazines, mainly as its all the same style of music/content. The language is mature, yet relaxed at the same time, mainly as you need to appeal to all readers in a comical way, but also in a serious tone. So finding the correct balance is what I did, and it compares very strongly with the 5 magazines language.

• My target audience was indie and punk, so I decided to go for more of an indie approach, mainly as I feel this was an easier style to write in, and easier to add content. This compares with 3 of my magazines, Pigeons&Peacocks, Rolling Stone & Q. These 3 magazines have the same style of target audience, but they also focus on a rock audience as well. So they only slightly compare with my magazine.

Who would publish my magazine and why???

• Overall I think that one of 2 out of my 5 would publish my magazine, as they relate in the strongest ways. He two magazines being Pigeons&Peacocks and Rolling Stone. These 2 for many reasons. Mainly being that the content is near identical, interviews with upcoming and classic stars, photography, language etc. My magazine compares with these 2 magazines strongly for photography, mainly as our photos are similar and are taken to integrate with text and stand out. The fonts used are similar, minus the coloring, which is to do with the house style, but that’s not what is being compared, when it comes down to just the font, they are very similar, bold and simple. The language is a very important role in why I think these 2 magazines would publish my magazine, for the key reason that the languages are very similar, they are both relaxed, but also very jokey, giving banter with bands and models etc, but keeping it to a serious tone. That is what I successfully did in my whole magazine. Lastly I think my magazine and the 2 I mentioned relate to the same target audience, as they are directed towards indie and rock genres, and they have both presented themselves to these genres in identical ways, mainly in what ahs already been mentioned; Content, Photography, Fonts, Language & Target audience. So those are the key factors which are why I think the London College Of Fashion or Wenner Media LLC would publish my music magazine; ‘Sticks&Skins’.
