Agenda – Morpheus @ Marist(This is not a Morpheus Boot camp – maybe next year)
• Some Sakai UI History at Marist
• Where did we start, where are we now
• Pain points with the existing UI
• Why Marist is for Morpheus
• Marist’s Sakai Skin using Morpheus
• Wireframes, Mockup & Sample
• Morpheus in action at Marist
• Question and Answers
Morpheus @ MaristSome Sakai UI History
• We started with Sakai 2.2
• We were more focused on content migration than we were on developing a dramatic UI
• We began with a very basic skin
• One for courses another for project sites (Only the image and tool list varied between them)
Morpheus @ MaristSome Sakai UI History continued
• We made minor changes in the UI with each Sakai release
• We added additional synoptic tools to MyWorkspace
• We modified the site information display on MyWorkspace to include a “Marist Alerts” display (MMR vaccination compliance, etc.)
• We started using the Gateway page with 2.9 to provide easy access to documentation and training materials based on the results of a UX study
• Our UI design never really progressed far beyond our original implementation

Morpheus @ MaristPain Points with the Existing UI
• “Can I use my phone to access Sakai?”
• “Will it work on my Galaxy Tab?”
• “Why do I get text boxes instead of a WYSIWYG edit box?”
• “Can you create me a personalized skin for my course that meets in 20 minutes?”
• “I don’t think the PDA skin is working properly. Only the log in page seems to work for me.”
• What do you mean you are planning to run a course using iPad Minis?
Morpheus @ MaristWhy Marist is for Morpheus
• “All web applications that are written or supported by Marist must be fully responsive.”
• We have seen a dramatic increase in access to our web applications from mobile devices
• We hope to leverage Morpheus across other web applications at Marist
• We feel this is an exciting area where we can contribute to the Sakai Community
