Multimedia AcademyA learning solution for middle school and high school students

The ProblemThere are students in middle schools and high schools that have the aptitude and talent to produce multimedia projects. There are also many houses of worship that are looking for people to produce quality video an audio projects. The problem is there was little to no formal training available for students of this age.

Even the public schools, Private schools and fine arts schools let even the introduction courses for multimedia. They mostly focus on performing arts.

Standards for evaluating possible solutionsTo evaluate the solution:We must go to students that would benefit from this kind of training. We also should interview the parents of the students to find out if our solution is viable enough for them to pay for it.I would also include getting responses from local pastors and organizational leaders.

Individuals standards for accepting a solutionWe must test the strength of the solution by gathering data directly our potential clientele.Must figure out the cost the market can bareHiring and Paying instructors is a part of the business that I have still not figured out.Creating a course curriculum is going to be a new challenge also.

BrainstormingThe solution is to create a multimedia academy that will be a afterschool program that will include middle school and high school age students. This school will offer video and audio production. The students will experience real live production scenarios as they will be able to intern on real professional projects. The instructors will have real world and experience in music, audio and video production. The students will also learn some cinematography basics

Narrow down the solutionOriginally my plan was to have one school location with all of the equipment in that location. As I thought about having the easiest most viable and economic solution I realize that I could use available space in church buildings and public buildings. That I can use be Extremely mobile and portable equipment and also require students to have some of their own Technology. For instance bringing their own laptops or camera equipment.By having small groups in different locations will also help me to try out different methodologies of teaching the subjects and make the school able to expand and shift locations very quickly. Without the expense of renting a large Space and supporting utilities I would be able to pay affordable rents in different places.

Supporting examplesFull Sail Labs seems to be working really good. It proves to me that in their market there is a need for this kind of education. Whether parents will pay for this and not in my market I have noticed that there are about seven different dance academies in this area. Parents are paying for their children to go to these schools. Through the research I've done I have realized that there're parents that will pay for their children to learn multimedia production.

Reason why this is the best solutionThis is the best solution and most cost-effective solution because of its very affordable start up costs. It will allow me to be able to dive in and start.I already own most of the equipment I need to start.I already am approved at a location in a nearby church.

Local support for my ideasOn Wednesday night it was speaking to a pastor and telling him about my project, that I want to create a multimedia academy. He explain to me how this is much-needed in the area of Lexington, NC. That not only would he assist me in promoting this to local churches but it also allowing me to use the space is the church for the school. The reason why this is interesting is because I got the same response from pastors in Augusta, GA and Grovetown, GA.
