My Social Realism Trailer

Story

• Two best friends Jason and Daniel.• Daniel is not as smart and does not have a future. • Through depression about thinking about his

useless life Daniel turns to drugs. • Jason tries to get him back to being his friend and

forget about drugs. • At the end, Daniel forgets about them but they

do not become best friends again, they each go their own separate way but they promised each other to still stay in touch.

Actors/Characters• Characters – I will have two actors, who will play the

lead roles.• The first character will be Daniel, he isn’t smart, he

fails all of his exams, and doesn’t seem to try to get any better, when things go wrong he gets depressed instead of becoming better.

• The second is Jason, This character is smart and behaves well, he doesn’t do anything bad and dresses well. He tries to make Daniel a better person when he goes down the wrong path. His grades are good and he gets treated well by everyone he meets.

Locations

• Location – I will use realistic settings such as Park hall academy, roads around the school and maybe my house.

Costumes and Lighting• Costumes – normal everyday clothes to

make it seem realistic and look like a British social realism. Here's an example of costume design

• Lighting – Natural lighting (light from the sun or moon) to make it seem real, artificial lighting can make scenes look unrealistic.

Narrative Structure

• The film will be linear but for promotional purposes the trailer will be non-linear to highlight the best parts of the film.

• This will serve as a valuable promotional tool.

Target AudienceMy primary target audience will be teenagers aged 14 -19. •This is because that age will be most interested in this film because they will be the ones that understand it the most, because all the actors are teenagers. •However this will most appeal to boys because the characters are guys and its about their friendship breaking up over drugs. •Also it will be aimed at working class teenagers because anyone over that social class will not be interested in films about drugs because they are more interested in posh films.
