INTRODUCTION• The poem Sweetest love, I do not go, It is

metaphysical poetry by John Donne. John Donne was pioneer of the metaphysical poetry.

• In this poem Donne take farfetched images like biography, science, economic images.

• In these poem poet use imagination for the expression of love and also faith in god.

• Some time use of images makes poem difficult to understand for reader.

ABOUT POEM• Sweetest love .. Deals with the theme of eternal love.

• In which lover want's to says his beloved that death can not separate him from his beloved.

• It shows the power of love.

• Lovers are died but love can not died.

• By feigned death to died.

• In this stanza Lover take death lightly

• yester night the sun went hence,

• And yet is here to-day;

• The sun has no risen to come back.

• His desire work as powerful wings.

• Lover considers a sleep as a great escape from pain because sleep stops the thinking.
