My Past

• I am a lifelong resident of Sioux Falls, SD. I went to and graduated from Sioux Falls Washington High School in 2008. After attending the University of Nebraska for a semester, I transferred to USD.

My Hobbies

• I am a music education major, so many of my hobbies are music related. I play trumpet and I am learning piano and horn. I also sing in chorus on campus. I also like exercising at the dome, watching funny movies, and studying urban planning on occasion.

My Goals

• Upon graduation, I hope to attend graduate school in the music disciplines, or perhaps begin my career as an educator immediately. I would like to be a band director at a large high school in the upper Midwest and also work professionally as a freelance trumpet player.

Where do I want to be in ten years?

• I would like to be a successful music educator and music professional with a graduate degree and diverse experiences.

My Musical Influences • I like a variety of classical and orchestral composers, such as Gershwin, Bernstein, Beethoven,

and modern art music composers like Eric Whitacre, Steven Bryant, and Mark Camphouse. I also like jazz, funk, show tunes, and grunge music as well as straight ahead rock. Some of my favorite bands are Pearl Jam, U2, and The Who. I also like solo artists such as Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, to name just a few.
