The aim of Banner Navigation training is:
To ensure you have a basic understanding of Banner, how it is used throughout the University and can navigate around the some of the fundamental forms

Applicant applies for course at NTU
Creates applicant record on Banner.
Applicant is accepted onto

Logging in to Banner
• Double click on the TRAIN8 icon.
• Click on Yes and Run to the Java messages.
• Enter your Banner Username and Password (supplied by trainer)

What is a form?
• Each Banner form is made up of 7 letters.
• Each one will contains different data.
• Key to using Banner is knowing which form you need for the piece of information you need.
• 2 ways of accessing forms.–Go To bar–My Banner Folders

How to Access a Form
• Type SPAIDEN into the Go To bar and press Enter–What happens?
• Click on the X on the top right on the form–What happens?
• Double Click on the My Banner Folder?–What do you see?
• Double Click on the Navigation folder–What happens if you double click on the forms names?

Searching for people and organisations
• Each person or organisation have their own unique NTU ID number.
• You can search for this ID number in three different ways.
• Can search from any form which requires an NTU ID number.
• Can use a wildcard function (common throughout Banner)
• Once you have found the ID number you can return it to the original form.

Searching for people process
Go to the form you want to
view the student in.
Click on the
icon.
Select Person Search.
This will take you through to
the search form.
Search for the student.
Double click on the student ID number to return the student to
the original form.
The “Form Route” you have taken is always shown at the top of the screen.

Viewing a student record
• A student record is created in 2 ways:• Once a student is made UFAA in SKAUMAD• Once they record is “rolled” after an exam board
• Student records are academic year dependant• Can view (in SFAREGS):
• Enrolment status• The residency of a student • The course• The year of study
