UNCW Assignment Calculator with additional and more detailed steps. The
assignment Calculator provides guidance and resources for completely a research
paper type assignment. You can even sign up to receive email reminders!

Randall Library News for September 2011
Randall Library will debut an exhibit focused on sports history and memorabilia from The John
Gunn Collection in Special Collections. Curated by Public History graduate student Sarah
Skrobialowski, the exhibit will run from September 9 through
December 15, 2011.
The majority of the collection relates to football but includes
baseball and basketball publications as well. The collection of
nearly 8,000 items includes books, periodicals, media guides,
game-day programs, rule books, newspaper clippings,
correspondence, photographs and other associated sports
memorabilia.
The exhibit can be viewed during Special Collections hours,
Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to noon.

Updated Version of Assignment Calculator
This database contains more than 32,000 entries and is a comprehensive guide to printed
records about the Americas written in Europe before 1750.
This new bibliographic database is a valuable index for libraries, scholars and individuals
interested in European works that relate to the Americas. EBSCO Publishing, in cooperation
with the John Carter Brown Library, has created this resource from “European Americana: A
Chronological Guide to Works Printed In Europe Relating to The Americas, 1493-1750,” the
authoritative bibliography that is well-known and respected by scholars worldwide.

The American Library Association will celebrate Banned
Books Week from September 24th until October 1st.
Banned Books Week is an annual event highlighting the
freedom to read and the importance of our Constitution’s
First Amendment. It was launched in 1982 in response to
a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in
schools, bookstores and libraries. More than 11,000
books have been challenged since 1982. Please take a peek at our exhibit on the second floor of
Randall Library between rooms 2016 and 2017. More information on Banned Books
